The award was given as part of the inaugural Langtry Manor Business Woman of the Year Awards which took place at the Langtry Manor with a black tie dinner on Thursday 13th May 2010. The Green Energy Centre sponsored the Environmental Business of the Year. The three nominees were Louise Regan from the Green Company, Claire Jenkins of Poundbury Systems and Ms Jewbury of Charlie Mews. The Green is a family run deli that specialises in locally and ethically sourced foods including local cheeses, free range meats, organic fruit and vegetables and a huge range of groceries and fine foods. After opening in December The Green has grown in popularity with shoppers as well as being treated with a fantastic takeaway menu that caters for all, including gluten free and vegetarians. The shop is green by name and green by nature! The business, run by mother and daughter partnership, is a located in Lower Parkstone. Danny Godfrey, Managing Director of Green Energy Centres says “We were so impressed with the level of entries in this award, we certainly had our work cut out with the judging process.
We are absolutely delighted to sponsor this award, and to reward the fantastic efforts of Louise and her family. It’s an incredible achievement and The Green is definitely worthy winner. The store is definitely worth a visit!”
