Green Energy Centre Lends Helping Hand

Article date: 28.01.10

Danny says, “We are very keen to help Bournemouth’s oldest charity. The level of support and services that the charity offers to its members, from centre activities and outings they organise to the befriending and counselling services is inspiring.”

The Green Energy Centre is a unique, interactive and educational idea which showcases how renewable energy technologies can be installed and used within the home. Danny Godfrey has pledged to provide energy saving equipment, help and advice to BSVI.

Members Services Co-ordinator of BSVI, Marion Vincent commented, “We are delighted that The Green Energy Centre have offered to donate energy saving equipment. We are a self-funded and independent charity, so any help, whether it be financial, equipment or advice is greatly appreciated so that we can continue to offer improved facilities, support and services to the visually impaired.”

For the Green Energy Centre’s Managing Director, this is just the start of their involvement within the community. “Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is something that all companies should be involved in, no matter how big or small they are. Participating in CSR enriches not only the community but also provides businesses with an understanding of the issues facing their local communities. This year we will be seeking to further our commitment to Dorset by establishing links and educational opportunities with local schools and colleges.”
